Working Together
The options below outline the different ways we can work together, depending on your needs and the type of support you are looking for. Services range from one-off consultations and assessments to ongoing therapy and specialist psychological interventions.
Further down this page, you can learn more about my structured CAT-informed formulation programme, and find answers to some of the questions people commonly ask before beginning therapy.
Available Services
-
’’I am not sure what I need - or where to start.’’
Suitable for those who are unsure what support they need, would like a professional psychological opinion, or want recommendations before committing to therapy. A comprehensive psychological assessment is designed to develop a clearer understanding of your difficulties, current circumstances, and goals, and may include discussion of treatment options, recommendations, or onward referrals where appropriate.
Most assessments take between 1-2 hours.
-
‘‘I want ongoing support and change over time.’’
Individual therapy offers regular psychological support tailored to your individual needs and goals. Sessions are informed by a collaborative formulation and may draw on a range of psychological approaches where appropriate. Therapy can be focused on a specific difficulty or provide broader support over time and it is usually offered on a weekly basis.
-
‘‘Past experiences are still affecting me now'.’’
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy designed to help people process traumatic experiences and distressing memories that continue to affect them in the present. It may be helpful for difficulties such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, flashbacks, intrusive memories, and certain phobias.
EMDR may be offered as a standalone treatment or integrated into broader psychological therapy where appropriate.
-
‘‘I want to understand and change the patterns that keep repeating.’’
Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) is an evidence-based, structured, time-limited therapy that focuses on understanding recurring relational, emotional, and behavioural patterns. A full course of CAT typically consists of 16-24 standard length therapy sessions, followed by 1-3 follow up sessions.
The focus and length of therapy are agreed collaboratively following assessment.
-
‘‘I need a space to think something through.’’
Suitable for those seeking psychological input around a specific issue, decision, life event, or difficulty without committing to ongoing therapy. These sessions provide a space for reflection, psychological thinking, and formulation and are available following an initial assessment.
-
‘‘I want to understand what keeps holding me back in life and see where I could do things differently.’’
A short, focused starting point to understand the patterns that keep repeating. It can be particularly helpful if you have found yourself asking ‘‘Why does this keep happening?’’, or if previous attempts to make changes have not led to lasting improvement.
This process combines a comprehensive psychological assessment with five CAT- informed sessions. Together, we will identify recurring patterns in your life, explore how they developed, and create a shared psychological formulation that makes sense of your experiences and highlights opportunities for change. You will receive a personalised written summary of this understanding, including key patterns, strengths, and potential areas of growth.
There is no expectation or obligation to continue therapy afterwards. Many clients find the formulation work itself brings significant clarity and choose to use it as a standalone piece of insight. Others choose to continue with therapy, building on the understanding gained through this process.
What is included:
1 × 50-minute psychological assessment
5 × 50-minute weekly CAT- informed sessions
A personalised written summary
Investment: £800
-

Please contact me for further information.

Please contact me to discuss requirements, availability, and pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. You can contact me directly - no referral is needed to access private psychological therapy.
-
The complimentary 15- minute phone consultation is designed to help with exactly this. It is an opportunity to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and think together about whether this feels like the right fit - without any obligation to proceed.
-
Many of the clients I work with have had previous therapy. We can discuss what was and wasn’t helpful, and develop a deeper understanding of the factors that may be maintaining your difficulties. Sometimes it is not the lack of insight that keeps people stuck, but the absence of a clear formulation linking current struggles to earlier experiences, relationships, and ways of coping.
-
No. Many clients are unsure which type of support would be most helpful. We can discuss this during a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation or initial assessment and decide together what approach best fits your circumstances.
-
I will usually respond within 2-3 working days. We may arrange a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to discuss what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you might have, and consider the most appropriate next steps. There is no obligation to proceed.
-
This depends on the nature and complexity of what brings you to therapy. Some people benefit from a focused piece of work over a few weeks. Others work with me over months or longer. This is something we discuss openly from the start - I do not keep people in therapy longer than is useful.
-
